HISTORIC PAST....DELICIOUS FUTURE
Named after the historic fishing reef located directly to the South of our bar in the Gulf of Mexico, the hard-to-find “shunk gulley” would serve as a point of navigation for boaters along the coast. Fishermen would launch straight out from Highway 393 at the current Ed Waline Beach Access to the reef. Rumor has it that this secretive reef was one of the top fishing locations in this part of the Gulf of Mexico. Once used as a landmark for the legendary fisherman of South Walton, the new Shunk Gulley bar and restaurant hopes to be a mainstay for locals to gather, visitors to enjoy, all while we continue the legacy of conservation. We have teamed up with the South Walton Artificial Reef Association to bring back active fisheries in the Gulf. Helping build a more diverse ecosystem that is not only good for the Gulf, but good for your plate. The new reef structures being deployed in the Gulf will carry the Shunk Gulley name, preserving the history of the area.
Shunk Gulley is a full service beach bar and restaurant with unbelievable Gulf views, food that is simple yet delicious, and unbeatable service welcoming all to the table. Whether stepping off the beach, stopping by after work, or driving by on your family vacation, everyone will find something to love at Shunk Gulley. Enjoy live music, 40 feet of unobstructed Gulf views from the second story bar, and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else on 30A. You’re always welcome at the Shunk Gulley.
